Malibu

Malibu is an exclusive and picturesque oceanfront community west of Los Angeles that famously promises “twenty-seven miles of scenic beauty” along its coastline.

The area exudes an air of laid-back and beachy affluence and is home primarily to celebrities, accomplished showbiz types, sun-kissed Pepperdine University students, and hardcore surfers.

During the day, locals and visitors can hike the many scenic trails through the Santa Monica Mountains, brush elbows with celebs shopping at the trendy Malibu Country Mart, or head down to sandy beaches like Zuma or El Matador to take in some sun, peruse the mansions along the water, or catch a few waves.

The J. Paul Getty Villa, situated right on the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH), is a beautiful museum known for its architecture, art, and views of the ocean.

By night, the largely low-key nightlife scene in Malibu centers around the many alluring seafood restaurants and waterfront shack bars scattered along the PCH, where beach bums and millionaire moguls can relax and share the sound of crashing waves and the utter lack of pretension.
