A unique lounge catering to local young professionals, the sleek and classy Copa d’Oro offers “market cocktails” – custom drinks for which the well-heeled patrons choose their own ingredients.

The warm décor of brick walls, chocolate leather couches, tasteful beach-themed artwork, and rich wood accents creates a welcoming environment for the small groups gathered at pub tables, while the long bar offers plenty of space for flirty singles to mingle as they peruse the list of ingredients fresh from the farmers’ market or wait for the mixologists to work their magic.

A popular Happy Hour draws birthday parties, tourists, and an after-work contingent eager to pack into the front booths to unwind over some high-end spirits and an appetizer or two.

While Copa d’Oro isn’t a spot for rowdy drunkenness, it does have a carefree vibe that makes it a great choice for couples, friends, and cocktail connoisseurs looking for made-to-order drinks in a relaxed and social atmosphere.

Shannon Elizabeth May 30, 2013 3.0 stars My kind of cocktails! This place is right by the ocean, so I was blown away by how inexpensive the cocktails and bar food here were during happy hour. I'm talking $5-$6 cocktails. The atmosphere of this place was nice, too. Dark, spacious, and the perfect volume so that you could hear someone talking to you without straining your ears. Granted we came in Wednesday after work, so there was probably less bustle than a Friday or Saturday night. Our waitress was attentive without hovering around us. We ordered the cheese board and the doctor's orders and primavera paninis. They were all delicious. I also got a daiquiri with blackberries and would definitely recommend that for those who like sweet, fruity drinks.

I came here to watch a live performance of a street artist during happy hour, decided to try just one drink, and ended up eating and drinking the rest of the night. Their cocktails have quite a unique combination of flavors. I especially love the honey snap and pisco sour. Food was delicious as well. Never thought a grilled cheese sandwich could be so elegantly delicious, and the lemon artichoke dip is drool worthy. We had a large group so finding a space big enough to fit everyone was a little difficult, since this place is not the biggest. But still had a wonderful time with the coworkers after a hard day!

Tell the waitress or bartender a few of your favorite things and in return you will be given a fantastic drink. I am tequila and whiskey drinker – usually neat. Sometimes I feel like trying something a little different and Copa d’Oro always delivers. If you have the luxury, go on a Monday and enjoy an all night happy hour. The only drawback is that it gets very loud and there is very little in the way of privacy. Definitely a place to hang out with friends and meet people. Less a place to do business or take a first date.

Adam Skolnick Oct 1, 2012 3.0 stars Craftsman Cocktails, Dark Elegance A great mdiweek spot (gets too packed on weekend nights) when I don't want to trek across town for a drink. Vincenzo, the bar manager, has crafted a spectacular menu of fine spirits, fresh fruit and herbs and offers some of the best cocktails in the city. The ambiance caters to a bit of a yuppie crowd, which can annoy, but midweek there's plenty of space to find a cozy corner and sip with your peoples in private. Occasional DJs often amaze.

Paul Feinstein Aug 24, 2012 3.0 stars Great Charcuterie Copa d'Oro is a fun bar on the Westside with not terribly expensive drinks and really tasty appetizers. There's really just one big room that's separated into two areas - places to sit on the right and the bar on the left. Though when it gets crowded, everyone's standing. It's probably best to come here for Happy Hour as they have really good specials. The crowd typically feels like mid-20s young professionals who live and work in the area. I wouldn't necessarily call it a date spot - but could be a fun alternative to the other bars in the area.
