Oktoberfest at Alpine Village Description

Oktoberfest at Alpine Village - Beer Festival in Los Angeles.

Munich may reign supreme when it comes to celebrating Oktoberfest, but the annual Oktoberfest at Alpine Village in Torrance, CA gives Deutschland a run for its Euros, and has since the event first went up in 1968.

Running for eight gloriously frothy weeks from September through October, Oktoberfest at Alpine Village seeks to recreate this signature celebration of German drink with oom-pah-pah bands – all flown in from the mother land – German beers, and lots of authentic Bratwurst and Polish sausages.

Alpine Village is a popular destination throughout the year, with a large restaurant and beer hall, a market, café, and even a bakery, so Southern California residents can get their schnitzel fix even if it’s not Oktoberfest.

But the biggest party at Alpine Village is definitely during these eight weeks, attracting tens of thousands of visitors ready to hoist hefty steins and dance the day away in their lederhosen.

Oktoberfest at Alpine Village admission fees usually vary from $10–$20 depending on when you go (it’s typically cheaper in September), and beers normally run $6 for a 16-ounce stein and $11 for a 32-ounce one.

It’s recommended to buy tickets for Alpine Village Oktoberfest online whenever possible; both to take advantage of frequent discounts as well as to avoid the long lines that usually form with same-day purchasers.

If you can’t make it to Munich this year, be sure to check out Oktoberfest at Alpine Village in Torrance!

Lynne Drake Oct 5, 2012 I love going to Oktoberfest at Alpine Village because it’s like bringing a little bit of the real thing to LA. The beer, the food, and of course, the live music. Friday and Saturday nights are definitely the livelier of the nights, but for the past few years I have loved going on Sunday afternoons. Even though it’s called “Family Day,” you are guaranteed shorter lines, a place to sit and a chance to participate in the on stage competitions. Before you leave, make sure to stop at the grocery store. They have tons of German foods and treats for really good prices.
