Nocturnal Wonderland Description

Nocturnal Wonderland - Music Festival in Los Angeles.

Nocturnal Wonderland is a two-day electronic music festival that takes place outdoors at the NOS Events Center in San Bernardino, California. Every September, thousands of people from all over the world gather in the desert to dance into the early hours of the morning.

Started in 1995, Nocturnal Wonderland features some of the biggest and best DJs in the world, incredible art installations, carnival rides, and more. The festival has grown to now encompass five stages spread throughout the grounds, each featuring DJs of different EDM genres: house, progressive house, trance, drum ‘n’ bass, and dubstep.

Past performers at Nocturnal Wonderland include such legendary DJs as Sebastian Ingrosso, Fedde le Grand, Axwell, Pretty Lights, Above & Beyond, Arty, Showtek, 12th Planet, Dirtyphonics, Andy C, and John Digweed.

Nocturnal Wonderland ends around 2am each night, but it’s not hard to find an after party at one of the nearby hotels, which are usually filled with festival-goers.

Single day GA tickets for Nocturnal Wonderland are around $95, while two-day passes are around $160. Single day VIP tickets cost around $190 and two-day VIP passes are around $315.

Natalie Moyce Oct 16, 2012 Nocturnal is a pretty weird event as raves go in my opinion. As the oldest Insomniac event, it attracts old ravers, as well as a crowd that's still extremely into the dressing up in uber crazy costumes and going to typical DJs that have been playing at Nocturnal since the 1990s. Sometimes I am down for this kind of thing, when I'm in the mood, and I went to this year's event and got what I expected. The crowd at NOS Events Center, where it is held, is awful. People tend to be big and pushy and rude and downright scary, and people can't handle their fun so you end up seeing a lot of unpleasant sickness around you. BUT if you stick with your friends they can be avoided for the most part. I actually enjoyed myself more at this event than I thought I would because it was so empty. NOS is a big venue for the small crowd that attends Nocturnal nowadays, and I was able to get right up to the front for Pretty Lights, which was definitely the highlight of the night. Nocturnal tends to put on a lot of trance DJs which I can only stand for so long, so the beginning of the night was fun but I was over it by Sebastian Ingrosso's closing set. Overall, wouldn't go back, there are better Insomniac events and all HARD events beat Insomniac any day. Except EDC of course.
mshen2424 Aug 24, 2012 When I went to my first rave at Nocturnal last year, I really didn't know what to expect. Being someone who hadn't had a lot of exposure to the electronic music and rave scene, I was feeling a little dubious about sitting through a couple of hours of harsh LA traffic just to get a place where, to me, is in the middle of nowhere. Aside from an unfortunate mix-up with my ticket at the entrance, I was was completely surprised at how an empty, deserted lot in San Bernardino can transform into a beautiful festival of lights and music. From oriental lanterns strung up between carnival booths, to people dressed up in colorful, albeit nonsensical, costumes, to the eclectic pulsing of rhythms and music coming between different tents, Nocturnal was a feast for the senses. The only thing that made it better was, of course, the DJs. The two-day event featured talents such as Avicii, Arty, and Kaskade, and for someone who still can't really tell the difference between these artists, I must admit that the DJs really are the main events and made the experience all the more memorable!
