The indie-focused FYF Fest is held every year in Downtown Los Angeles around Labor Day Weekend.

Levi Michaels Aug 22, 2012 FYF is a grimy fest, no question about it. People kick up a lot of dust, the lines will test your patience, and there's usually sound problems to boot. On the other hand, there's simply no beating the quality of artists for that admission price. Though sometimes mismanaged, FYF has proven in years past to be a good time and a great showcase of comedians, electronic artists, and punk/hardcore/indie bands, some of whom you will not find at any other festival. Just take a good long gander at that amazing line-up and remember that seeing even a few of your favorite artists have a good set will make it worth your money.

Nikki Laureola Aug 16, 2012 I hate to say it, but I think FYF sold out. Since the name change, prices have just freakin' skyrocketed. And conditions have not improved. It's been getting more and more crowded, lines for water are atrocious, and OMG THE DUST. Getting to the front isn't even fun because that's where it's getting kicked up the most, and the dirt pit just gets bigger and bigger as the day goes on (aka as the bands get bigger). I can't imagine how huge a health hazard that would be by Day 2. It is NOT worth $90 to be coughing up LA Historic for a week. Don't get me wrong, a lot of the time, selling out means bigger bands and better stages. But in this case, it just doesn't make up for the venue.
