With neighborhoods like Little Ethiopia, K-Town, and MacArthur Park, Los Angeles hosts an eclectic mix of foods, styles, and sounds. Celebrating this tradition of diversity every year since 2010, FILTER Magazine floods Echo Park with some of the biggest indie bands from all over the world as they play alongside popular US artists at the Culture Collide Festival. This global indie festival spans four days in early October at over five venues in Echo Park, including The Echo.
Past performers at the Culture Collide Festival in Echo Park include international stars like Of Montreal (US), John Talabot (Spain), The Wombats (UK), The Standards (Thailand), Efrat Ben Zur (Israel), and The Kavanaghs (Argentina). With live concerts, film screenings, and local food trucks, the Culture Collide Festival is one of the most buzzed about music events on LA’s Eastside.
Tickets to the Culture Collide Festival in Echo Park are around $20. In-between sets, take advantage of the happy hours that go from 2-8pm featuring drinks from a different highlighted country every day. By the time the Culture Collide Festival is over, you’ll have a new list of favorite bands and beers from around the world.
