Culture Collide Festival Description

Culture Collide Festival - Arts Festival | Food & Drink Event | Music Festival in Los Angeles.

With neighborhoods like Little Ethiopia, K-Town, and MacArthur Park, Los Angeles hosts an eclectic mix of foods, styles, and sounds. Celebrating this tradition of diversity every year since 2010, FILTER Magazine floods Echo Park with some of the biggest indie bands from all over the world as they play alongside popular US artists at the Culture Collide Festival. This global indie festival spans four days in early October at over five venues in Echo Park, including The Echo.

Past performers at the Culture Collide Festival in Echo Park include international stars like Of Montreal (US), John Talabot (Spain), The Wombats (UK), The Standards (Thailand), Efrat Ben Zur (Israel), and The Kavanaghs (Argentina). With live concerts, film screenings, and local food trucks, the Culture Collide Festival is one of the most buzzed about music events on LA’s Eastside.

Tickets to the Culture Collide Festival in Echo Park are around $20. In-between sets, take advantage of the happy hours that go from 2-8pm featuring drinks from a different highlighted country every day. By the time the Culture Collide Festival is over, you’ll have a new list of favorite bands and beers from around the world.

Get a bunch of bands from all over the world, scatter them around 5 different venues in a 2 block radius in the heart of echo park, and charge only $20. How is this even possible? Are they losing money here? I don't know but for people attending it is a win win situation specially if one of the bands performing is a band you like. With one band you'll get your money's worth and still have the opportunity to enjoy over 30 more bands that you may have never heard of. During the 4 day festival there are bands playing at different venues within walking distance of each other. You can see one band at Origami Vinyl, then walk over to Echo, then squeeze your way into Echoplex only to walk across the street over to TAIX where you can grab a beer and a french dip as you watch a band playing from South Africa. This is truly a must experience for any music fan. If that wasn't enough Sunday is a free ($5 suggested donation) block party featuring the headliners of the previous 3 days. If you like music, food, drinking, and hanging out with people then this is an event you don't want to miss out on.
