Top-Notch Comedy, Subpar Food, Expensive but Delish Drinks

The Brea Improv is a great option for casual dates or group get-togethers. You can find plenty of free parking in the huge parking structure across the street, and you’ll have a great time laughing and seeing your date/friends laugh as well. You can purchase tickets for big name acts or you can get free/discounted tickets via Craigslist, last-minute giveaways on the Brea Improv’s Facebook page, or even a quick search on Eventrbrite (this worked for me twice). The venue has a 2 item minimum but I’ve gotten away with ordering just one drink. The service is pretty standard for a comedy club. I highly suggest you order food/drinks before the show starts. Your server will definitely come by less so as not to constantly walk in front of folks who are trying to focus on the show. I recommend trying the Sex on the Stage and ordering the bucket of beers to keep your buzz going throughout the night. As for the food, don’t expect your taste buds to be blown away. It’s not repulsive, but I’d compare it to expensive frozen dinner meals- Meh. Tips: -Don’t rush out when the show is over! Comedians hold meet n greets in the lobby afterwards -Show up half an hour early, or more if you’re planning to see a big name act -Eat dinner before elsewhere; there are lots of good options ($-$$$) in the vicinity -Great place for double dates -Make a trip to the restroom before the show starts… Don’t be the person who laughed so hard, you peed your pants Favorite local happy hours: -Good beers: Buffalo Wild Wings, which has an awesome outside patio upstairs with lots of heat lamps. 3-7 Mon-Fri and 10-close Sun-Thurs -Awesome margaritas/sangrias/mojitos: Cha’s Cha’s, which has happy hour Sun-Thurs all day, Fri-Sat 11:30am-7pm. Also, free chips and salsa- WIN
Looking for Laughs?

If you are stuck trying to figure out what to do this weekend, make your destination the Improv and laugh the night away. Make a whole night out of it and get dinner before the show. Don't want to go this weekend? That's ok. You can check the schedule and wait until your favorite comedian will be featured. For a low price, you can have one of the best nights you've had in a long time.
