Hollywood, Los Angeles –
With a motto like “In wine we trust,” it’s hardly a coincidence that patrons stepping off busy Sunset and into Vintage Enoteca can find a cool escape from the Hollywood scenester scene: The bottles are the stars at this bar.
The venue’s booze selection centers on boutique producers, and though most folks wouldn’t call the drink prices cheap, savvy sippers will still find plenty of rarer options to sample that don’t necessitate a bank loan.
The weekday Happy Hour and its selection of half-off dishes attracts a classy but relaxed crowd of locals, when area business types join flannel-clad creatives and young families on the street-side patio to chat over Pinots and plates of cheese, deviled eggs, and savory panini.
Small and minimally decorated, the space features a few old photographs and a modest liquor cabinet that dress up the otherwise bare white walls, while two rows of candlelit high-tops are ideal for couples on a successful first date…and probably awkwardly tight for couples on a bad one.
Not everybody sticks to wine thanks to a modest but curated list of craft beers and ciders, and the vino always takes a backseat on weekends when groups of friends pile in for brunch and bottomless pitchers of fresh blackberry sangria.
An unpretentious haunt perfect for unwinding at the end of the day or sipping to the morning sun, Vintage Enoteca is a cozy neighborhood spot that mellow modern drinkers should definitely take adVintage of.
Couples on dates, casual neighborhood locals, artsy young professionals, laid-back business types, winos, sangria-os, and young area families, mid-20s to late 30s.
Ambient classic rock and chill lounge tunes take a backseat to conversation.
Small menu of Italian-inspired appetizers including deviled eggs topped with bacon or caviar, bruschetta, salami and cheese, salads, flatbreads, and panini.
Venue holds non-traditional tasting events several times a year, including candy and wine pairings during Halloween, a bacon and wine series, specialty beers served with a variety of grilled cheese sandwiches, and more. Check venue website for info on the next event.
Free parking available behind venue.
Happy Hour M–F 5–7pm (discounts on select food items only).
