Hollywood, Los Angeles –
A friendly drinking den without the velvet ropes and long lines, The Well is a refreshingly relaxed neighborhood bar that draws a young and fun-loving crowd of after-work drinkers and singles looking to mix and mingle.
Light on décor, the venue’s main attraction is the bar in the middle of the room – and its centerpiece aquarium full of martini glasses – where patrons gather in the early evening for some laid-back conversation over cocktails.
Semi-private areas accessed through keyhole openings provide space for the engaging crowd to meet and greet, while high-backed communal black leather banquettes lining the walls make chatting with new people a given.
The energy picks up considerably as the evening progresses, the liquor flows more freely, the music fans line up to play DJ at the jukebox, and the actors, agents-in-training, and preppy young professionals chat and flirt with groups of well-heeled women.
One of the best places in town for down-to-earth good times with a festive party crowd, The Well promises a happening scene bound to work itself into a loud frenzy by midnight.
Relaxed and casual young professionals, singles, birthday groups, and regulars, 21 to 35.
Jukebox featuring current alternative favorites and top 80s and 90s rock tunes.
Bar menu including burgers, fries, pizza, sandwiches, and chips and salsa. Happy Hour daily 5–9pm. Valet parking available at garage next door.
Menu $3–$16. Beer $5–$7, mixed drinks $8+. Valet $7.
Button-downs and jeans for guys, dressy jeans to casual dresses for girls.
Friday or Saturday evenings when the bar is most crowded, or after concerts at the The Hollywood Palladium across the street.
The Waffle (6255 West Sunset Boulevard) serves up its namesake and other breakfast foods for the post-Well crowd. Open until 3am on Fridays and Saturdays.
