Sep 3, 2014 —  So you’re in London, a city that offers a wealth of excitement and countless places to go and things to see and do with friends and family. But what happens when you want a change from visiting the many pubs, bars, restaurants, theatres and museums that the city has to offer; what else is there to do? If you are stuck then fret no more - take a look at alternative entertainment for an evening out in one of the greatest cities in the world!

Jack The Ripper Tour

Perhaps one of the most famous and notorious criminals from the Victorian era, but how much do you actually know about the crimes that were committed by this heinous individual? There are many tours available from London but perhaps one the most entertaining and interactive is offered by Discovery Tours and Events. Best-selling author Richard Jones created this exciting and suspense driven walk around the streets of London in 1982, visiting and detailing some of the sites where the most horrific crimes took place. Walks set off every night from 7pm outside the Aldgate East underground station and last for around 2 hours. Children are welcome on the walk but parental discretion is advised due to the subject matter.

Indoor Skydiving Experience

Have you ever wanted to go skydiving but are not sure if you could actually throw yourself out of the plane? Well, with an indoor skydiving experience you won’t have to! There are several places dotted around the capital which offer the experience of skydiving through huge wind tunnels. As long as you meet all the health and safety criteria you are good to go and many of these places will ensure you leave with a smile! While not only offering a great source of entertainment and something to do for all the family, you can also use the experience to work towards your skydiving license.

Faulty Towers Dining Experience

Ok, so we’ve all been to a restaurant for a night out. But this is different. This is ‘eatertainment’. If you are a fan of the BBC television series Fawlty Towers then this is the eating experience for you; a 3 course dinner with a 2 hour long interactive production which incorporates the very best of the Fawlty Towers characters that you know and love. This is unlike anything you will have experienced before and even if you have been previously there is no script and, as it is very interactive, every night is different! This is great family fun for people of all ages.

Flight Simulation

If you have ever wondered what it would be like to be a pilot then wonder no more. Extreme Element offer a range of flight simulation experiences so you can see what it is like to be a pilot. All from one simulator you can take off from Heathrow, raising your aircraft to a height of over 30,000 feet and feel what it is like to cruise around the sky before bringing it back down to Earth and landing in the airport of your choice! You can decide the length of your flight, so whether you want a quick 15 minute short haul trip or, you would like to fly for a bit longer and really test your skills, there are experiences that last for 90 minutes. With this being an indoor simulator you won’t have to worry about the outside conditions; a winner all round!

As you can see, there’s plenty of alternative experiences to be enjoyed in the capital, so next time you’re in London town, why not give them a go?
