An interactive museum for adults, Vinopolis (City of Wine) is a self-guided tour of wines from all over the world.
Starting in ancient Georgia, where wine is believed to have been invented, the tour continues through the major regions of Europe before entering the “New World” of wine production, including California, Australia, South Africa, Thailand, and New Zealand.
Tasting stations along the route, changing scenery depicting each region and time period, and even a virtual tour of Tuscany on a stationary Vespa combine to create a full-immersion experience.
Wine is not the museum’s only focus, however. Visitors will also be treated to cocktails as they learn about special liqueurs like Bombay Sapphire and absinthe. Known as the “green fairy,” a little absinthe goes a long way, and the loopy visitors exiting the museum are proof positive.
The overall atmosphere of the space is elegant and warm, with pin-spot lighting reflecting off the warm colors and architectural features.
Popular with a diverse clientele that includes everyone from curious local folks to international wine connoisseurs, Vinopolis promises an upscale experience in a relaxed and welcoming setting.
