Oct 29, 2014 —  Forget about the Tate Modern, Buckingham Palace and the Trafalgar Square. If you really want to experience London as a true car enthusiast, this is the guide for you - as we go full throttle into the depths of London’s streets to find the very best places in the capital for gear heads to visit:

The London Motor Museum

Motor aficionados should not miss out on a trip to the London Motor Museum in Hayes. As the only custom car museum in Europe, it’s home to a very impressive collection of US and European classic cars from the 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's as well as hosting a selection of very famous cars including the Batmobile and the DeLorean (without Doc Brown).  Amongst the array of classic cars you can also take a wander down Muscle Car Alley and graze The Supercar Paddock before heading to the Burger Bus Stop for a huge gourmet burger and an all American milkshake.

Supercar Driving Experience

Venture to the outskirts of London and you’ll find U Drive Cars, offering some of the very best supercar driving experiences in the country. Expect a turbocharged day sat behind the wheel of some of the meatiest cars around. Hear the growling of engines and the squeal of tires as you complete laps in an Aston Martin DB9, Ferrari 360, the stunning Lamborghini Gallardo and the timeless Porsche 911. Throw in a couple of Caterhams an Audi R8 and an E Type Jag and you’ve got yourself an action packed day that any car lover would struggle to forget.

The London Classic Car Show

Running from the 8th to the 11th of January 2015, The London Classic Car Show showcases some of the finest classic cars you’ll ever see. Designed to put London firmly back on the classic car map, the show held at the London Docklands will play host to some of the most incredible cars in the world. Visitors will be able to see and hear the cars in action on ‘The Grand Avenue’ runway, guest curators including some of the biggest names in the classic car world will be on hand to ensure only the rarest and most priceless cars will appear in the show this January.

Bond in Motion

Delve into the depths of Covent Garden to the London Film Museum and you’ll find the largest official collection of original James Bond vehicles for you to feast your eyes on! See the archetypal bond car, the Aston Martin DB5 sat there in all its glory, find the stunning Rolls Royce Phantom III and the unforgettable Lotus Esprit S1 to name just a few. The Bond collection is also home to the Crocodile Submarine as well as a host of famous boats, aircrafts and motorcycles from the big screen.

Powerboating Experience

Although powerboats don’t fall under the realm of motor vehicles, any car fanatic who appreciates a bit of speed will absolutely love the thrill ride that comes with a powerboat experience at the Westminster Boating Base. If racing down the River Thames in a high speed, ex-army assault boat sounds like your idea of fun then this could prove to be a close to perfect day for you!
