Stamford Bridge Stadium

Stamford Bridge, also known as “The Bridge”, is a football stadium that is home to the wildly popular Chelsea Football Club. Stamford Bridge opened in 1877 and became Chelsea FC’s home ground in 1905.

Stamford Bridge is in London’s Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, and is one of the larger stadiums within the Premier League. Chelsea football matches have seen upwards of 83,000 spectators.

Aside from football, other sports at Stamford Bridge include rugby, greyhound racing, cricket, and baseball. Other major events at Stamford Bridge have included FA Cup Finals, Charity Shield games, and international football matches.

Stamford Bridge has been redeveloped and expanded to include two hotels, apartment complexes, restaurants, bars, and even an attraction called Chelsea World of Sport. For the one hundredth anniversary of the founding of Chelsea FC, a museum called the Centenary Museum was built to honor the prestigious club’s history.
