Selhurst Park is a football stadium and events facility located in the suburbs of London in the Borough of Croydon. Selhurst Park officially opened in August of 1924 and has since hosted a number of different events. The stadium is currently the home of Crystal Palace Football club and has a capacity of about 26,300.
In addition to football, Selhurst Park has hosted other sports events throughout the years. Sports at Selhurst Park have included boxing, cricket, and even two games for the 1948 Summer Olympics. Selhurst Park has also served as a venue for music concerts, primarily in the 1980s.
In 1998 Selhurst Park claimed the English football record for hosting a football game watched by the largest amount of people at one time.
