The FA Cup, or the Cup Final, is the Football Association championship match played every year at Wembley Stadium in London, England. Wembley Stadium was opened in 2007, has a seating capacity of 90,000, and is home to the England National Football team in addition to hosting the NFL International Series. FA Cup participants are made up of the English Premier League teams, the Football League teams, and any other football league members who had played in the previous year's tournament.
The FA Cup has a long history dating back to 1871 and matches take place over the course of seven months from November to May. The Cup is special in England because it gives smaller teams, "Minnows", a rare chance to be "Giant-Killers" by dethroning the major teams from the English Premier League - though that rarely happens.
The winner of the FA Cup earns an automatic spot in the UEFA Europa League, a prestigious tournament made up of 48 teams around Europe.
Past FA Cup winners include Manchester United, Chelsea, Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal, and others. Manchester United has won more FA Cups than any other English team.
