England’s national cricket team has a history that dates back to the 1700s and have been playing locally and internationally since 1859. Though the team has no home stadium, they often play matches at Lord’s Cricket Ground in St. John’s Wood, London. The stadium was built in 1814 and has a seating capacity of 28,000 for English cricket matches. English cricket is particularly known for its rivalry with Australia. The two teams have been playing since 1882 and their biennial series of matches is called the Ashes Series where they play for the Ashes Urn. Some notable English cricketers include Douglas Jardine, Geoffrey Boycott, Graham Gooch, Ian “Beefy” Botham, Alastair Cook, and Stuart Broad. England cricket tickets can sell out quickly when there’s a big match on the line, so it’s wise to plan ahead when looking for seats.
