Party Earth Review: A charming and traditional black-and-white pub located on a posh side street, the bright and airy Admiral Codrington – locally known as The Cod – is a reflection of the surrounding upscale neighborhoods of South Kensington and Chelsea. The décor of plush seating, paintings of English scenes of another era, and delicate lamps that cast a soft glow across the polished wood tabletops combine to create a refined yet unpretentious atmosphere for the bar’s jovial patrons, who are endlessly reflected in the pub’s many mirrors. Three distinct sections consisting of a hardwood bar, a restaurant with a retractable ceiling to allow for open-air dining in warmer months, and a large beer garden lush with foliage accommodate the mix of business types, chic locals, and casual passersby who steadily stream in. Although the pub can be quiet and laid back in the afternoons, by the time evening rolls around The Cod gets packed to the rafters with rowdy diners and drinkers overflowing onto the heated outdoor patio – and since the pub has been recognized by Michelin for its stellar British cuisine, guests can also rest assured that the food is as good as the beer. ... read full review |

“The Cod is one of the best places in town to get a plate of fish and chips. The dish is particularly good here as the pub uses top-notch ingredients right down to the local London Pride beer in the beer batter. Can’t go wrong!”
