“London’s pub culture offers a day and night drinking scene that’s pretty much the same on every corner of the city. The beer is always flowing, the people are always in good spirits, and each pub makes you feel like you’re hanging with friends at your very own neighborhood bar. The only downside is that almost all of the pubs close early, usually around 11pm. Once the pub scene winds down though, the bar scene ramps up and there are plenty of venues in Soho or Central where you can keep pounding pints and possibly find yourself on a raucous dance floor. As for daytime activity, one of the best hangover cures is kicking around a football in one of the many parks – and maybe even catching fifteen minutes of London’s rare spots of sun.”

“Hot clubs, swanky bars, high-end shopping, and cutting-edge fashion make London one of the most enticing cities in the world. Going out here means wearing the latest trends and dancing in the most exclusive places. The posh Chelsea clubs seem to guarantee a great mix of the city’s elite where guests are just as likely to run into a celebrity as a royal. The snap-happy paparazzi are always waiting outside, so it’s best to try not to give them too much tabloid material! When the sun is shining, the streets of London are filled with fashion-forward crowds under the seductive spell of the super-chic shopping opportunities in Knightsbridge and Oxford Street and Regent Street. Shoppers should be warned, though: a shopping excursion down either Sloane or Bond Street might require a helping hand to carry all the bags you’re certain to accumulate.”

“It’s no mystery why the greatest bands in the history of rock and roll seem to come out of London. The city’s music scene is truly second to none and offers venues and styles of all types, from the gritty punk dives in Camden to rock concerts at the massive Wembley Stadium. This scene brings out London’s artists, hipsters, and creative types who are always easy to chat and chill out with. Though some of the clubs can be a little pretentious, there are a bunch of terrific accessible venues in places like Shoreditch and Brick Lane where DJs play funk, house, or techno. For one of the best daytime activities, Camden Markets is a great place to mingle with the hordes of people browsing the stalls of food, art, clothing, and other crafts or to duck into one of the surrounding pubs for a couple of pints.”

“It may be an expensive city, but London is such a cultural treasure that it’s hard not to take advantage of all the options it offers, both day and night. Given the immense crowds that wander through Covent Garden, some of the bars and pubs guarantee a good time at all hours – not to mention the many options for eating, shopping, and just enjoying the street performers. Culturally speaking, London is a world-class city with an amazing theater scene and tons of museums, music venues, and festivals. For a night of dancing and sumptuous cocktails where getting dressed up doesn’t mean spending a fortune, some of the trendy bars and lounges in Clapham or Central can’t be beat.”
