The Church has the reputation of hosting some of the wildest anything-goes parties in London and offers a truly extreme way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Although its rowdy nature has forced the club to relocate several times, the party scene is still alive and well and is now located at the Clapham Grand. Particularly famous for its rather kitschy entertainment, The Church’s roster generally includes exotic dancers and risqué comedy routines, as well as plenty of dance music that keeps the hordes of boisterous Australians, New Zealanders, and South Africans coming back for more week after week. While the focus on excessive drinking may not appeal to everyone, there’s no denying that a friendlier and more welcoming crowd is hard to find. The Church’s patrons clearly show up to let their hair down and unwind, and the fact that they are often clad in costumes and beachwear only serves to crank up the energy in an already raucous atmosphere.
