Royal Festival Hall Information

Royal Festival Hall is a performing arts and concert hall on the South Bank of London, just bordering the River Thames. The venue is part of the larger Southbank Centre complex, which also includes Queen Elizabeth Hall and the Hayward Art Gallery.

Royal Festival Hall opened in 1951 and was originally constructed as part of the Festival of Britain. This 2,900 capacity hall has since become one of the most reputable performance venues in Europe. Events at Royal Festival Hall include concerts, dance performances, poetry readings, and orchestras. Notable recurring performances at Royal Festival Hall include the distinguished London Philharmonic Orchestra.

One great attribute of the Royal Festival Hall is its generous “open foyers” policy, whereby the foyer spaces are free for the general public to enjoy during the daytime, with or without a ticket to a show.
