O2 Academy Islington Concert Venue

O2 Academy Islington is a music venue located in the London Borough of Islington. O2 Islington opened in 2003 and is owned by the Academy Music Group (AMG). AMG owns two other O2 venues within London – O2 Academy Brixton and O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire.

O2 Academy Islington has a capacity of 800 and is connected to the smaller O2 Academy 2 Islington venue, which holds about 250 people. Events at O2 Academy Islington are held every day of the week so music lovers can enjoy those rowdy weekend nights or even mid-week party breaks. Academy O2 Islington hosts live music gigs as well as weekly Saturday club nights called Club de Fromage, and Feeling Gloomy.

Notable performances at O2 Academy Islington have included Eminem, Paramore, KISS, and Train. O2 Academy Islington was also the set for band My Chemical Romance’s music video for their hit single, Planetary (Go!).
