Bush Hall Information

Publisher WC Humdall built a dance hall, Bush Hall, in 1904 as a gift to one of his three daughters.

The building took on various forms throughout history. It served as a bingo hall, a restaurant, and a snooker club before taking on its current form as a live music and entertainment venue in 2001.

Though Bush Hall is a relatively small venue, with a seating capacity of around 350 people, it boasts some big performances. Shows at Bush Hall include diverse musical talents in the folk, blues, country, alternative rock, and indie music genres. Past concerts at Bush Hall include Panic at the Disco, Yellowcard and the Fray.

Sam Levy Jan 8, 2013 3.0 stars Thumbs up Bush Hall As the English would say, LOVELY! Bush Hall is a little bit of a walk from the Shepard's Bush tube stop but don't let that sway you in your decision for choosing your evening destinationof adventure. I saw Ingrid Michaelson, an American musician, while working in London this past summer. She had posted on her twitter that she would be playing in London and I was easily able to get a few tickets for myself and a couple of other friends that swoon for her. I couldn't have had a better or more charming experience at a London venue. The hall is small, but not too small, with a lovely '20s feel to it complete with a chandelier and red velvet drape backdrop to the stage. We heard Ingrid sing her wonderful songs and chit chat with the crowd, which is a plus in a small venue which made for an intimate concert experience. The only downside was the slight swampy atmosphere...by the end of the night I was drowning in my own sweat, I can't even imagine the artists under the lights! If you can brave the stickiness, Bush Hall is a perfect little place to see your favorite little-known artists play.

Craig Becker Dec 9, 2012 3.0 stars Rock on, Bush Hall Bush Hall is pretty sweet. I saw Alberta Cross, a New York band, there while studying in London and it was a great show. The band itself was phenomenal, but the venue itself lent a great deal to the atmosphere. The entrance is filled with paraphernalia from past concerts (concert posters, signed t-shirts, etc.), all from bands I love. The concert "hall, " if it can be called that, is a rectangular chamber with either a chandelier or a disco ball (I can't remember which), and the upstairs area is split into an indoor area, which houses the bar, and an outdoor patio for patrons to enjoy a breath of fresh air (I can't say much for the venue's ventilation system). But if any of this sounds snobbish or uppity, just know that with any band worth its salt, you are practically guaranteed to have a good time. Bush Hall may not be the prettiest venue, but it gets the job done.
