An ultra-trendy Scottish bar, lounge, and club, Albannach lures in passersby from Trafalgar Square with its hip urban décor and modern glass exterior.
Deer antler chandeliers and male staff members in sharp black kilts give a nod to the Scottish ambiance without going over the top, while a scattering of silver couches and white tables welcomes customers to the sophisticated cocktail bar on the ground floor, a popular hangout for an after-work crowd of young professionals.
The low-key vibe in the bar area features soothing music and the constant buzz of animated conversation as patrons sip seductive cocktails or savor a selection from the bar’s famed menu of whiskeys from every region of Scotland.
Albannach also offers a small upstairs restaurant with buttery yellow sofas and rugged Scottish landscapes, as well as a VIP area surrounded by silver curtains and wrought iron railings that overlooks the bar – but the main attraction is the A Lounge, a funky downstairs den that turns into a club on the weekends.
The wide variety of music from Nu Jazz to funk classics keeps the stylish clientele on the dance floor all night, making Albannach an excellent and lively alternative to the typical West End clubs.
Trendy young professionals and locals, 20s and 30s.
Dark minimalist/deep house, Nu Jazz, electro house, flat beat tunes, old-school northern soul, and funk classics. Occasional live music.
Upstairs restaurant serves traditional Scottish dishes including haggis and black pudding as well as haddock fish cakes and fillet steak. Various promotions and special deals offered throughout the week.
