Self-described as “the biggest pub in the world,” the Great British Beer Festival has been an annual London event since the 1970s, and routinely features hundreds of beers from both British as well as foreign breweries.
Normally scheduled for five days in August, the Great British Beer Festival normally attracts upwards of 60,000 attendees, who collectively drink more than 350,000 pints of beer over the course of the event.
To handle the crowds, the Great British Beer Festival usually sets up shop at the Olympia Exhibition Centre, a massive event space in Earl’s Court.
Visitors to the Great British Beer Festival will find more than 800 different ales, ciders, and foreign beers to sample, as well as festive live music, pub games, and the crowning of the annual Champion Beer of Britain.
Tickets to the Great British Beer Festival are around £8 in advance or £10 at the door. Once inside, the average price of a pint at the Great British Beer Festival is around £3.50, with approximately 50% of the beers priced at £3.20 or less, and several for as low as £2.80.
