Because it’s such a major international city, there are always London festivals and events taking place on a near daily basis. If you want art, film, food, wine, books, holidays, and any other type of festival, you’ll always find something to suit any celebration.
If you’re looking for music, the Wireless Festival in Hyde Park is a three-day extravaganza featuring the biggest artists from around the world like Jay-Z, Rihanna, The Black Eyed Peas, David Guetta, Nicki Minaj, and others. The Camden Crawl Music Festival is more for the independent-minded crowds with artists like Death in Vegas, Razorlight, and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
For the more discerning celebrators, the London Film Festival is a major stop on the festival circuit while the London Book Fair every April is a massive international trade show. The Chelsea Flower Show, meanwhile, is one of the biggest flower celebrations in the world and brings in more than 150,000 annual visitors.
For those with less discerning tastes in London, there’s the Great British Beer Festival held every August where tens of thousands of locals and tourists flock to try hundreds of international brews and eat suds-soaking bar food.
But for all the festivals in London, the Lord Mayor’s Show may be one of the most popular, where on the second Saturday of November a new Lord Mayor is appointed and leads a great parade that culminates in a massive fireworks display on the River Thames.
