London Fashion Week is a semi-annual fashion trade show held at the Somerset House in London. During the September fashion week, designers’ Ready-to-Wear, Haute Couture, and men’s Spring/Summer collections for the following year are debuted, while February’s fashion week features Fall/Winter collections.
London Fashion Week is one of four major fashion weeks known as the Big 4, which includes New York Fashion Week, Milan Fashion Week, and Paris Fashion Week.
Some of the most prominent participating design houses include Burberry, Acne, Temperley, and Matthew Williamson. Each designer produces a runway show with its own elaborate theme that radiates artistic talent and creativity.
A main feature of London Fashion Week is the Canon Cinema, a media room that hosts film screenings, live streams of runway shows, and Q&A sessions with designers, filmmakers, and directors.
The Fashion Week spectacle, organized by the British Fashion Council, attracts international fashion directors like Anne-Marie Curtis, models like Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, and celebrities like Kate Moss who attend private after parties to celebrate their favorite designers’ successes.
During the week, the city comes alive with an energy that crowds local bars like The Blue Bar and The Connaught with some of the most famous people in fashion, entertainment, and art eager to join in on the excitement of Fashion Week.
