For all we know, comedy could’ve been invented in London, and seeing a comedy show in this great city is one of the best ways to spend an evening.
When talking about London comedy shows, it’s important to understand the long history of unbelievable British comedians: Ricky Gervais, Eddie Izzard, Russell Brand, Stephen Fry, Steve Coogan, Benny Hill, John Cleese, Eric Idle, Michael Palin, Hugh Laurie, Rowan Atkinson, and Sasha Baron Cohen to name a few.
The best comedy shows in London take place at the various comedy clubs and sketch theaters all over town. One of the best places to catch a show is at the Comedy Café. This London staple hosts both local comedians and touring stars. Another great venue is the Comedy Store. In business since 1979, the Store is also a hotbed of up-and-coming stand-up stars and long running comic veterans.
Seeing a comedy show is always great no matter the occasion. Whether you want to take out a first date, celebrate someone’s birthday party, bring a group of bachelorettes together, or you just need a good laugh, the countless comedy clubs in and around London will provide non-stop laughter and hours of entertainment.
