It’s hard to miss the clash of orange chandeliers, red leather seats, and purple walls at Verve, a mod bar and club with a big dash of 70s panache.
Located in the heart of Covent Garden, this venue is always buzzing with an ever-changing mix of friendly after-work types and wandering tourists lured in by all the activity visible through Verve’s large windows.
The ground-level bar and Red Room lounge are favorite haunts of the young clientele that shows up each night to sip the sumptuous cocktails, while the mezzanine offers a more intimate setting perfect for a midnight rendezvous.
The basement is home to a chic little club whose fluorescent blue lights, pink stools, leather booths, and plum walls cast a colorful glow on the central dance floor, where a lively crowd grooves to the DJs tunes.
Verve’s dynamic atmosphere caters equally to those seeking a laid-back experience and those in a clubbing mood.
Mix of young professionals, tourists, and students, 18 to 30.
DJs every night in both the bar and club. Bar music tends to be catchy and mainstream, while the club plays funky house, R&B, and hip-hop. Live music on Tuesdays.
Lunch menu of salads, wraps, sandwiches, burgers, and nachos served daily noon–5pm. Dinner menu features shrimp scampi, pasta, sausages, burgers, and sandwiches. Happy Hour daily 5–7:30pm. Drink specials throughout the week.
Cover charge £0–£10. Lunch menu £5–£12, evening menu £5–£14. Beer £3+, wine £4–£5, cocktails and mixed drinks £7–£8.20, shots £4+.
Fridays and Saturdays are the busiest, while Wednesdays offer cheap deals.
