Party Earth The Loop Review

The Scene

The Loop in London’s Soho is an upscale bar/restaurant by day, but transforms into a packed club at night. Dress up & get loopy in London with Party Earth.

Although it may look like a fairly ordinary upscale bar and restaurant by day, at night The Loop transforms into a packed club that’s perfect for partiers looking to really let their hair down.

Daily lunch and Happy Hour specials promise a strong crowd of local office workers, who fill the place in the afternoon to grab gourmet burgers and sandwiches, and often return later to sip £4 mojitos and Mai Tais after a long day.

Night is when the venue really shines, with four rooms covering three levels, each offering a different ambiance for the perennially non-committed.

If the sleek ground floor bar is too mellow, which isn’t likely once Thursday rolls around, patrons can descend to the sultry red restaurant space, where groups of exuberant bachelorettes and dapper couples fill up on roasted poussin and glazed lamb before they really get their drink on.

Classic and fruity cocktails flow freely in the speakeasy-styled Opal Bar, where suits and scenesters take to plush black booths and VIP tables set beneath gold-rimmed mirrors, or dance to distinctly modern pop and R&B in the open space around the center bar.

Further down, the seventies and eighties live on in the Groovy Wonderland space, with loud retro tunes, a rainbow-lit dance floor, mounted old-school roller skates, and go-go dancers in legwarmers...and little else.

Packed on every level from Thursday to Saturday nights, The Loop offers patrons that nice mix of elegance and unabashed overindulgence, bringing all types of Soho party-seekers back around for more.

Tip from Emma:

The Loop’s Happy Hour is half off all drinks (except spirits), and the jugs of cocktails are strong and yummy. If you just stay put after that, you’ll avoid the line and the cover charge and get to dance your tail off till close.

Bachelorette parties, big groups of girls on a night out, area office mates, tourists drawn by the central location, mainstream music lovers, dance-happy friends, mid-20s to mid-30s.

  • Entertainment / Music

  • Food / Miscellaneous

Full menu includes lunch options like gourmet burgers, sandwiches from shredded duck to Italian meatball, and traditional British comfort foods, and dinner dishes like lobster frites, steak, glazed lamb rump, and fajitas.

    Reservations accepted.

    Happy Hour daily 5–8pm.

Rude, snotty manager. How this place stays in business is a mystery to me when the manager is rude and the staff are incompetent. Its a good thing they have half-price happy hour coz its the only reason to go but there are plenty of places in Soho that have a better, less uptight feel.

I went here for a work do, got here early on guest list and got quite merry on the great happy hour deals. We had a birthday girl who had rented out one of the plush black leather couches on the all-black floor, and little canapés kept coming out with bottles of bubbly—couldn’t complain. Until one of the managers interrupted a conversation I was having and decided to be rude, we were having a good time. It’s really a shame so many of nightclub/bars have such antisocial management, because they can really sour a good night out. I think my best advice would be to stay away from the management and the basement floor—which is empty and kind of awkward!
