Jul 5, 2012 — Anyone who thinks London is all about stuffy royalty and stodgy schoolboys has clearly never been here. Either that or they’re stuck in some weird Disney-powered alternate universe, which, come to think of it, would actually be kind of cool.
Those of us in the real world know such an opinion about London couldn’t be further from the truth, and when we’re looking for a dance floor to beat out the city fog or just the fog of the work week, the bountiful clubs of London welcome us with open arms.
Well, some of them do. There are plenty of glitzy and glamorous clubs that are tough to get into, but when the burning desire to get gussied and tweezed overwhelms us, we head for the nearest velvet ropes, where the hottest models, celebs, and millionaire businessmen can all be found.
Other times, though, we’re vying for the underground scene: those gritty subterranean dance halls accessed down a dark alley; those one-time rave pop-ups out in Dalston or Hackney Wick; the smell of sweat and the flash of strobe lights enveloping us.
It doesn’t get much better than a night out like that, throwing down at some these top clubs for the world to see, surrounded by friends and with nary a care in sight. So get your dancing shoes on, pick one of the amazing spots below, and thank us in the morning.
You're welcome.
