Party Earth Review Ronnie Scott’s, London’s oldest jazz venue and a Soho institution, has hosted legends like Jimi Hendrix and continues the tradition by booking the best acts in the world. As a bastion of all things music, it should come as no surprise that jazz clubs in London host some of latest and greatest saxophone swinging artists in the world – and do so on a nightly basis.
London jazz clubs come in all shapes and sizes and cater to all types and budgets. The venues range from big pristine halls with grand stages to down and dirty dives with old-timers trumpeting their hearts out in smoky rooms.
One of the most well-known jazz clubs in the city, and possibly the planet, is Ronnie Scott’s. Opened in Soho in 1959, Ronnie is a major jazz institution open seven nights a week and features the biggest names in the business like Wynton Marsalis and others.
Another very cool jazz haunt is the 606 Club, a small speakeasy where the musicians are practically on top of customers but is a hotspot for a younger jazz-loving set.
Big or small, old or new, jazz clubs in London are ubiquitous throughout the city and offer up a steady clientele smooth nightly tunes to tap your toes and shake your tail feathers to.
