The Scene
One of London’s first urban bars, Alphabet claims to have coined the term “shabby chic” and has maintained the offbeat, modern style that consistently attracts young creative and media types. The stark white walls of the upstairs cocktail area showcase the abstract works of up-and-coming artists, while ornate gold mirrors, red brick paneling, and retro metal tables create a cool backdrop. DJs spin urban beats while the groovy denizens of Soho slink around sipping trendy cocktails. A more intimate vibe awaits in the downstairs lounge, where distressed leather couches provide the perfect place to soak up the atmosphere. Though Alphabet looks like it might have a pretentious vibe, the friendly staff and laid-back clientele create a warm and welcoming atmosphere where the focus is clearly on open and lively conversation.

Jonah
“Show up just as people are getting off work. Order a cocktail, peruse the art exhibit, and claim a seat before it gets too crowded. Great spot for pre- or post-dinner drinks.”
