Nestled in a quiet back street in the shadows of the castle walls of Dalt Vila, Teatro Pereyra is a wood-beamed, high-ceilinged neighborhood saloon that offers a relaxing café environment by day and a spirited vibe by night.
A front terrace sheltered beneath a white columned arcade creates the atmosphere of an early 20th century New Orleans jazz house, a feel that is carried through to the interior by the faux gaslight chandeliers, red velvet curtains, and vintage turn-of-the-century liquor advertisements that adorn the walls.
The overall effect creates the backdrop for a lively night of dancing to some largely improvisational musical stylings: The small stage is set on a red carpet against a rough medieval stone wall while a plush elevated lounge fitted out with tables and comfy seating provides a slight detachment from the action on the small dance floor below.
Teatro Pereyra normally attracts a mellower, more mature clientele of older locals, but once midnight rolls around and the band gets going, these dance-happy patrons flood onto the floor to create a vibe that, while not as chaotic as the bigger clubs, is certainly still buzzing.
Laid-back yet outgoing regulars who still know how to party, mid-20s and up.
Live music, mostly funk and soul, featuring a different headliner every night backed up by the house band. A DJ follows the band and plays until closing.
None.
Beer €3, wine €3, mixed drinks €5. During concerts: Beer €8, wine €8, mixed drinks €12.
Anything goes.
Any night around midnight once the band gets going.
