Located on the main port of the island where ferries from the mainland shuttle to and fro, Ibiza Town is an upscale area that has become the primary playground for the wealthy set that pulls into the harbor in their luxury yachts.
While the area’s five-star beach resorts and chic boutiques do attract a fair share of jet-setters, Ibiza Town offers plenty of activities to appeal to a broad range of people.
Those who crave a bit of culture and a fantastic view, for example, can merely stroll through the historic Old Town, the home to Dalt Vila, a 16th-century hilltop castle that overlooks the town, and which was named an UNESCO World Heritage site in 1999.
Ibiza Town’s social scene centers on Carrer de Barcelona, the large pedestrian-only street just off the port that contains loads of outdoor restaurants, shops, and bars, many of which have attractive women out front selling discount club passes and drink specials.
This is where people gather to shop, dine, and drink before heading out for an indulgent night on the town, and the street is a hive of continuous activity every night until about midnight when people start migrating to the clubs for their all-night dance-fests.
