Ibiza Concerts Overview
Ibiza is obviously known for its mega clubs, mega parties, and mega excess, but there’s another side (albeit much smaller) of the summer party island that’s also dedicated to live music – and some of the Ibiza concerts that take place are filled with just as much pomp and circumstance.
First off, there’s the DJ scene. Now many people would argue that seeing a DJ playing music in a club shouldn’t be called a concert. But at a minimum, what happens in the clubs here is no less than a major performance, and every big name DJ in the world gets paid millions of dollars to spin the decks for thousands of rabid fans.
Beyond the ones and twos, there’s one venue on the island that has staked its claim to the actual live music scene, and that venue is the Ibiza Rocks Hotel which hosts their Ibiza Rocks summer series featuring big name acts from around the world. Past performers have included The Kooks, Dirty Pretty Things, LCD Soundsystem, Mika, Arctic Monkeys, The Ting Tings, Groove Armada, MGMT, Florence and the Machine, Fatboy Slim, and many others.
There are of course some smaller live music venues spread out across the island most notably Villa Mercedes for live jazz concerts, and Teatro Pereyra for funk and soul.
The scene may be heavy on DJs, but there are still plenty of concerts in Ibiza where live musicians do what they do best – rock the house, and blow their fans away.
