Party Earth Review: One of the most original club scenes on the island, The Zoo Project is a wild theme party that makes its home in an abandoned zoo and encourages partygoers, as the tagline says, to “create your own culture.” The rowdy young crowd hardly needs to be told twice as many come decked out in animal prints and special makeup. Organizers cleverly use whatever is available in the space to create a unique club environment, including turning former snack shacks into alcohol distribution points, an inflatable children’s maze into a funhouse for patrons to stumble through, and animal exhibits into dance and performance spaces. In the afternoon and evening, revelers congregate in the amphitheater, which includes a large dance area in the stands and a stage, separated from the crowd by a moat, from which the DJ and costumed performers entertain the masses. Once the sun sets, torches and colored spotlights give the madness a sensual glow and help the crowd find its way to the main poolside dance area where the party goes into full swing. Those who need a break from the frenetic pace need only wander the grounds to find numerous chill-out spaces as well as several barbecues that will keep them fed and happy. Overall, The Zoo Project provides one of those once-in-a-lifetime experiences that most partygoers will have a hard time forgetting. ... read full review |
