When you think about event venues in the French Riviera, probably not a whole lot comes to mind. But you’d be mistaken if you thought the Mediterranean coast was devoid of live music, sports, and entertainment.
On the music side of things, there aren’t tons of venues, but plenty of live music can still be found in music halls like Palais Nikaia, Stade Charles-Ehrmann, and L’altherax. Smaller venues like Blue Whales, Ma Nolan’s, and Sun 7 Café, feature live rock or jazz and allow up-and-comers a chance to sing their hearts out, and pray someone important might be paying attention.
When it comes to sports, it’s all about football, and the French Riviera venues that accommodate the thousands of screaming fans are no small thing. Stade du Ray in Nice holds nearly twenty-thousand people whenever OGC Nice is on the pitch while Stade Louis II is equally large and fills to capacity for AS Monaco FC matches. Beyond football, the Monaco Grand Prix takes place every year at the Circuit de Monaco and is one of the biggest stops on the Formula One circuit.
For those looking for something more refined in the French Riviera, there are a number of theaters and galleries all throughout the region, many of which are on full display during the annual Cannes Film Festival.
