Nice, French Riviera –
Surrounded by Italian-style architecture of red and yellow townhouses and situated in the center of Nice’s old town, Place Rossetti is a charming square featuring a small stone fountain and the lovely baroque Cathédrale Sainte-Réparate.
Easily accessed by the streets Mascoïnat, Rossetti, and the Pont-vieux, the square and its many sidewalk cafés attract a bustling daytime crowd of residents, families, and travelers eager for a bit of refreshment and relaxation.
At night, however, the square transforms into a meeting point for everyone from hippies to hipsters who gather to enjoy a few open-air drinks and conversation as music echoes off the walls of this enclosed space.
On summer nights, it’s common to encounter local musicians along Place Rossetti, who show up with cellos, guitars, and accordions to play long into the night, or the occasional group dancing beneath the stars with a simple boom box blasting old-school jams.
All types and ages by day, younger crowd by night, 20s and 30s.
Musicians, vendors, and occasional performances.
Sandwiches, ice cream, beverages, and coffee available at the various restaurants and cafés around the square.
Sandwiches €5+, ice cream €2.
Casual.
Any afternoon for refreshments at one of the cafés, or any night of the week around 10pm in the summer for the nightlife scene.
