The French Riviera’s entire existence is practically built on outdoor activities and outdoor events. And when you’re soaking your feet in the warm Mediterranean water, you’ll discover there are more activities and events than you’ll know what to do with.
Starting off there are the unbelievable beaches. Whether you’re in Cannes, Nice, Antibes, or Juan-les-Pins, you can find places to sunbathe, play some beach volleyball, kick around the soccer ball, do a little kite surfing, diving, and countless other outdoor activities. All the beaches cater to both relaxing days in the sun or non-stop sporting activities for the restless.
Beyond the beaches, there are great promenades and squares to explore like Place Rossetti or Rue Masséna in Nice. Place Rossetti is surrounded by beautiful Italian-style architecture and a plethora of cafés, shops, and sightseeing. Rue Masséna is a pedestrian walkway parallel to the beach with lots of boutiques, ice cream vendors, and cafés.
For outdoor events in the French Riviera there’s the Monaco Grand Prix Formula One race, and for music there’s the Nice Jazz Festival and Jazz a Juan festival in Juan-les-Pins, which has been running for over 50 years.
Whatever you want in paradise, you can generally get, and if you want to take in some great outdoor activities in the French Riviera, there is no shortage of incredible options.
