Open de Nice Côte d'Azur 2012 Description

The Nice International Championships was first played back in 1971 and has since changed names multiple times until settling on the Nice Open in 2010. The tournament, like many others during the April to June clay court season, serves as a tune-up for players looking to win the prestigious French Open, which is also played on clay.

Past Nice Open winners include Richard Gasquet and Nicolás Almagro, while other winners of the varying named tournament include Henri Leconte, Björn Borg, and Ilie Năstase.
