Les Voiles de Saint Tropez 2012 Sports / Sailing Sep 29–Oct 7, 2012

Beginning as a one-on-one race for honor in 1981, Les Voiles De Saint-Tropez (Sails of Saint-Tropez) is now an annual regatta in the French Riviera in late September or early October hosted by the Société Nautique de Saint-Tropez (SNST). The SNST is located in the Saint Tropez bay and hosts over 50 days of racing each year.

The Sails of St. Tropez consistently attracts over 300 boats and yachts for its week-long competition featuring two coastal races a day. The ultimate prize, the Rolex Trophy is awarded to the winner of the Classic Division, while top three finishers in each division win various, less-prestigious prizes. Past Sails of St. Tropez winners include NYYC 40 Rowdy captained by Graham Walker and Ikra captained by Yves-Marie Morault.

Sails of St. Tropez spectators gather along the shores of the St. Tropez bay or on yachts in the St. Tropez bay to view these daily races. While viewing the regatta is free, Sails of St. Tropez registration starts at €600 and increases with the size of the boat.

While there are no official Sails of St. Tropez parties, spectators’ parties both on the shores and on boats in the St. Tropez bay are present and accessible throughout the week.
