AS Monaco FC is a professional football club that plays matches at Stade Louis II in Fontvieille, Monaco. The stadium was first opened in 1939 but a replacement was built in 1985 near the site of the original. AS Monaco got their start scoring goals back in 1924 and currently plays in Ligue 2, a second tier division in French football. Not the most storied franchise in French history, Les Rouge et Blanc (as they’re often called) has still won multiple Ligue championships, Coupe de France victories, and Trophée des champions wins. Some notable AS Monaco players include Jürgen Klinsmann, Fabien Barthez, Emmanuel Petit, Lilian Thuram, and Ibrahima Touré. AS Monaco tickets aren’t tough to find as the team isn’t known as a football powerhouse – but big rivalry games fill the stadium up quickly.
