Nelson Mandela Forum Information

The Nelson Mandela Forum, located in Florence and named after the former president of South Africa, has been a multifunctional indoor arena since 1985.

Past sporting events at the Nelson Mandela Forum include the 1990 European Cup Winners’ Cup and the 2010 FIVB Men’s World Volley Championship.

When the arena is not being used for sporting events, it also serves as a cultural center for exhibitions, conferences, and parties. During the summer months, the venue becomes an outdoor cinema for movie screenings.

The venue has also hosted live concerts and theater performances and can hold up to 8,200 people. Past performers at the Nelson Mandela Forum include Bob Dylan, Jamiroquai, and the Italian rock band, Negramaro.

Other features of the forum include a boxing training center, a gym, and a mural painted by a South African artist on the main entrance of the building.
