San Lorenzo, Florence –
The Fish Pub’s fish store façade and fishing décor may be amusing, but the main focus at this popular bar is less on ambiance and more on the rowdy patrons, daily Happy Hour, and free buffet.
Although the clientele is largely English speaking, the lack of a cover charge attracts a relatively diverse mix of people who wander in and out, creating a constantly evolving crowd throughout the night.
At any given moment, visitors will find laid-back groups of students gathered at the tables, girls dancing around the bar getting warmed up for a night at the clubs, and guys in football jerseys huddled around the game on TV.
The party atmosphere can reach a fever pitch inside – no doubt aided by the venue's notorious five shots for €5 daily special – so those in need of a break can always step outside to the patio for a bit of air and elbow room, not to mention great views of the square and plenty of people-watching.
Known in the neighborhood as a “party pub,” The Fish Pub definitely knows how to land a good time.
Mostly English speakers, early 20s.
Satellite TV sports on a wide screen. Beer pong parties on Wednesday nights. Theme nights throughout the week.
Free aperitivo includes small sandwiches, chips, and olives. Daily Happy Hour specials.
Beer €4–€5, wine €3–€15, cocktails and mixed drinks €7, shots €3 or select shots five for €5.
The biggest parties happen on Fridays, but Saturdays also draw a good crowd.
