The Scene

Sleek and modern with a conservative yet animated vibe, Slowly is a posh little bar and lounge that attracts a stylish clientele of young professionals.

A long black bar with electric-blue backlighting is nicely set off by the more subdued black, tan, and red that dominates the décor, while creative light fixtures and plenty of candles lend a golden glow.

A curving staircase leads to a second level, which provides an excellent view of the action below as well as a great place to savor selections from the bar’s popular aperitivo buffet, which offers flavors from around the world.

Colorful booths line the walls of the larger lounge room, meanwhile, where a DJ spins an eclectic selection of music from Nujazz to club beats.

With its laid-back vibe, smooth music, tasty cocktails and outgoing patrons, Slowly manages to capture a nightclub feel while still maintaining a composed and comfortable environment that doesn’t overwhelm.

sophisticated, yet fun & playful

While studying abroad in Florence, I went out several times per week. Slowly was by far my favorite place to meet friends for drinks. It's decor and vibe are chic, but unpretentious. The crowd has a mix of both Italians and foreigners, which is nice because you often find one or the other, and the drinks are tasty. Intelligent conversations. Beautiful people. Highly recommended.
Slowlyyyy

I spent some nice evenings in this bar. They serve the usual array of drinks and cocktails. It boasts a funky cool designed interior with a mainly young crowd in the evenings playing all genres of pop music.
large menu and quantities

My friend found out about slowly, and so we went one evening to check it out. the drink menu was quite large, with a lot of variety. The prices are a little bit higher than they are at most of the other bars geared towards students, but the drinks were also a lot bigger and a lot more...effective. Great music, too, though there didn't seem to be much dancing. Definitely a great place to go for a drink before heading somewhere else!
nice drink deal

This place has the great one-drink-lots of food deal and its close to the centre and easy to find. The food is on a platform-pedestal and even though the specialty is effeminate cocktails they do in fact have beers for normal guys. You’ll spend six euro at happy hour for a beer, but the food makes it okay to charge six euro for a beer. There is no limit to how much food you can get so when I went I thought of it as dinner and ate several plates piled with food so I didn’t have to think about dinner later.
Aperitivo Must

Slowly has the most expansive and unlimited Aperitivo spread you can imagine. There's just so much food, elevated on a platform in the center of the room, that it could feed a small army of students—which it does, every night, for seven euro drinks. The bartenders are master cocktail conoisseurs, and even the most handsome and straightest-looking of them will serve up cocktails girlier than anything seen on Sex and the City. I’ve never seen Slowly get crazily busy at nighttime, though during aperitivo you may have to find a seat on the pavement outside if you don’t nab a table in time.
good choice for drinks, great location

went there for drinks after dinner one night and was pleased. the place is in a great central location, close to the higher end shopping district in florence, a sophisticated vibe but not out of reach or obnoxious. was there last week on a very rainy night, but still a decent crowd and great music, very laid back service which suited our group well. defintely worth checking out.
So much fun!

I visited slowly while studying abroad last Fall. It was such a great atmosphere. Drinks were expensive (a bit out of student budget) but they are really great. It was so much fun to go with just a few friends and have a less crazy night out. We only went a few times because of the price but we loved it. I got the “Passion Fruit Martini” which I highly recommend. If you’re looking for a place to start out the night this is also a really great place to go. YAB, one of the better clubs, is right around the corner. Perfect location. Small place but perfect for a small crowd of friends.
Great place, love the atmosphere

I've been twice on pretty slow nights but I still love the venue. It has such a cool look and friendly atmosphere. The bartender said it becomes the place to be in the winter when crowds are looking for indoor lounges. From what I have seen it is still definitely a place to go before heading to a club. Like the review says, it has a nightclub feel that is not too overwhelming, so with the small dance floor it is perfect for some dancing and cocktails to get you ready for a fun night out. I am excited to go back in the winter to see the place really fill up!
