Party Earth Universale Review

The Scene

Housed in a renovated two-level movie theater just across the Arno River, Universale is a refreshingly modern and dynamic dance club popular with a clientele of outgoing young professionals.

Housed in a renovated two-level movie theater just across the Arno River, Universale is a refreshingly modern and dynamic dance club popular with a clientele of outgoing young professionals. The venue’s downstairs stage and dance area is given over to the evening’s DJ or band, who perform in front of a massive projection screen flashing with video art as patrons sip cocktails around the oval-shaped bar and in the surrounding lounge areas, or make their way to the vivacious dance floor. An elegant curving staircase leads to the upper level bar and seating area, which provides a great view of the action downstairs as well as a bit of a respite from the raucous scene below. Those who prefer more privacy may opt to reserve the Casanova VIP room, which offers more elbow room and an equally animated experience. Whether the boisterous patrons prefer to enjoy a drink at the bar, mingle in one of the lounges, or show their moves on the dance floor, the aptly named Universale provides a place to do it all.

Tip from Emma:

The dress code isn’t very strict, but it’s fun to dress up anyway. Try not to show up with a disproportionate number of guys on free cover night though, since the bouncer will most likely deny access to the group.
