Perhaps the most popular American-style sports bar in Florence, The Red Garter has enough rooms, nooks, and cozy corners to accommodate any mood, and attracts a young and rambunctious crowd of English speakers eager to order a pitcher of beer and kick back with their compatriots.
Sports fans will want to congregate in the front room with its plethora of TVs tuned into the “big game,” while those in the mood for mingling will find plenty of people to chat with at the standing-roomonly bar.
A dark two-level room in the back features long picnic tables, a DJ booth, and a dance floor that invariably becomes the scene of most of the action, whether it be a beer pong tournament, a karaoke session, live bands rocking the house, or just a wild night of dancing.
Regardless of the activity, patrons at The Red Garter will always find a friendly, outgoing crowd ready to share familiar traditions in a familiar setting.
Primarily English speakers and American study-abroad students with a sprinkling of locals, early 20s.
American pop music. DJs spin in the back room. Theme nights include karaoke Mondays and Wednesdays–Saturdays, beer pong tournaments on Tuesdays, Wings and Margaritas Night on Wednesdays, Live Music and a DJ set on Saturdays, and televised sports on Sundays.
The adjoining restaurant, The House of Sizzle, is a typical American steak house and grill serving steaks, hamburgers, chicken strips, fries, onion rings, milkshakes, and hot wings. Happy Hour daily until 9:30pm.
Onion rings €2.50, french fries €2.50, wings €0.50 each, burgers €5. Draft beer available in five sizes €4+. Cocktails €6.50+ or €16/two-liter pitcher.
Casual.
Any night for Happy Hour or on one of the theme nights.
