Oltrarno, Florence –
A Happy Hour hotspot for a chic crowd, Negroni is not only a historical piece of Florence’s identity – after all, it was here that the famous Negroni cocktail was invented – but also a modern manifestation of the city’s international character.
Besides the diverse clientele that hails from all over the globe, the bar is also known for its Aperimundo, an expansive aperitivo buffet that features treats and delicacies from around the world.
Patrons can enjoy their nibbles and cocktails at the front bar, where the décor of light wood, silver accents, and arched ceilings creates a sleek and relaxing atmosphere, or they can wander to the dimly lit lounge, where dark green leather sofas and candlelight provide a more romantic setting.
The best seat in the house, however – especially on pleasant summer nights – is the cozy wooden patio where the crowd of sociable young Florentines gathers behind the wall of green hedges for a bit of fresh air, some animated conversation, and no doubt several rounds of Negroni.
Chic locals, expats, and savvy travelers, mid to late 20s.
Music varies. Check the website for special events and performances.
The bar’s Aperimundo (7–11pm) – a constantly changing international aperitivo buffet – is one of the most famous in Florence.
Buffet €8, includes one drink. Cocktails €7.
Smart casual.
Any evening for Aperimundo.
