Oltrarno, Florence –
One of the most popular gathering spots in the city, Dolce Vita is a chic little bar whose buzz of activity draws a stylish and flirtatious crowd of young professionals and locals that often overflows into the piazza.
Although a separate wine bar offers an impressive selection of wines, the centerpiece of the venue is the semi-circular bar with its brilliant orange glow around which the evening’s festivities orbit to the rhythm of the blasting DJ music.
A seating area lined with black leather couches and wicker box seats provides a comfortable lounge vibe for the attractive, upscale clientele, while a luxurious arrangement of lounge chairs, antique coffee tables, and a flat-screen TV create an intimate living room area.
In the summer, patrons flock to the expansive terrace to sip cocktails under the stars, while all year-long the venue hosts several dozen works by local and international artists with rotating displays of paintings, photography, sculpture, and more.
Generally laid-back in the early evening, Dolce Vita provides the upbeat vibe of a club later on when the DJ starts spinning and the volume and energy level rise.
Fashionable young professionals, late 20s and up.
DJ sets on the weekends, live music on some weeknights (Tu–Th), Champion’s League football and other special events throughout the week. Art gallery displays of several dozen works change every fifteen-to-thirty days.
A world-class chef prepares a light lunch menu of fresh pasta and salads. Appetizer buffet daily 7:30–9:30pm, including the popular seafood buffet on Fridays.
Pasta €7, entrées €10+. Beer €6, wine €6–€12, cocktails €8.
Smart casual.
Friday nights for the club atmosphere or weeknights for live music. During the summer, the terrace is the place to be for cocktails and flirting with beautiful people.
