Located in a cozy niche in the hills around Piazzale Michelangelo, Cargo is a Latin dance club popular with locals and Latinos who gather to salsa and tango into the wee hours. Designed like a scene straight out of Havana, Cargo takes patrons out of Renaissance Florence and drops them into a Caribbean sunset of yellow-orange walls and a relaxing tropical décor. Exotic cocktails help loosen up the crowd, which soon takes to the dance floor to shimmy to the lively sounds of salsa and other Cuban and Caribbean beats. While there are plenty of booths and tables in the bar and upstairs lounge areas, a night at Cargo isn’t about sitting this one out – so patrons should show up with their dancing shoes and be ready to mix and mingle with the friendly and outgoing clientele.
